CW Innovation and DigitalHealth.London announce the second cohort of the Horizon Fellowship

In early July, 17 new Fellows were welcomed into the second cohort of the Horizon Fellowship, a programme delivered by DigitalHealth.London in partnership with CW Innovation (the flagship innovation programme run jointly by CW+ and Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust).

Built upon the existing DigitalHealth.London Digital Pioneer Fellowship – which has aided several Chelsea and Westminster Hospital staff members working on digital transformation projects – the Horizon Fellowship supports individuals employed by the Trust to spearhead innovation projects aimed at optimising patient care and improving overall patient experience.

The 12-month programme provides Fellows with peer-to-peer support through Action Learning Sets as well as access to workshops, resources and events that cover topics from challenging conversations to evaluation. They will also get the opportunity to be paired with mentors who are accomplished leaders within the business and healthcare sectors, enabling them to benefit from their extensive experience.

The 17 Fellows chosen for the second cohort of the Horizon Fellowship are:

The first cohort of the Horizon Fellowship successfully supported 15 members of staff at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in 2022/23, with the 2022/23 Horizon Fellows’ projects estimated to have impacted over 13,000 patients over the year.

Chris Chaney, Chief Executive of CW+, said: ‘Congratulations to our newly appointed Fellows. We’re excited to help develop your ideas and see the impact they have on our patients over the coming year and beyond. The Horizon Fellowship really is a fantastic opportunity for Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust staff to receive the support they need to bring their innovative ideas to life. It also further cements the Trust’s reputation as a leader in the digital health field and an early adopter of next-generation approaches to care.’

Newly appointed Horizon Fellow, Noni Nyathi, said: ‘I’m excited to be part of the Horizon Fellowship, which will give me the chance to connect with others and to learn how to design, plan and deliver my project to improve patient care and experience in our hospitals.’
