Biography: Molly has worked at the John Hunter Clinic for three years and was recently appointed as a Substantive Speciality Doctor with a specialist interest in Sexual & Reproductive Health (SRH) and Complex Contraception.

Molly’s role includes:

  • Providing care to those requiring insertion/removal of contraceptive devices and other complex contraceptive needs
  • Participating in GUM clinics for symptomatic management of outpatients
  • Delivering dedicated teaching clinics for trainees from across NWL as a registered trainer for the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare
  • Supporting the Directorate service lead for contraception governance in developing plans to deliver innovative services.

Horizon Fellowship project summary: Molly’s project is to design a simple, smart and connected innovative sexual and reproductive health service for people living with cystic fibrosis and those providing care for them. Molly will also identify where opportunities exist to expand the service to others with complex medical conditions.

Estimated number of patients / staff impacted by the project:  approx. 600 patients

Goal(s) for time on the Horizon Fellowship programme: Molly would like the opportunity to learn more about creating solutions, setting up novel services and gaining funding. She would love to co-create and implement a digital solution with the cystic fibrosis team at The Brompton. Molly believes that this project could have a huge impact on the quality of life of patients while also improving interdepartmental relationships more broadly within the Trust.
