Biography: Daisy is an experienced registered nurse in the Adult Intensive Care Unit. Currently she holds a Band 7 Secondment role where she leads on the inter-team project around recording patient diaries. Daisy serves as a unit coordinator, team leader, and practice supervisor and assessor for junior staff and students. She has been working in the trust for 18 years.

Horizon Fellowship project summary: Daisy’s project aims to utilise and improve a protected, web-built application of the ICU patient diary. She hopes to integrate audio, photo and video as well as printed text by means of electronic devices or computer systems.

Estimated number of patients / staff impacted by the project: 70-80 staff and 20 patients depending how many patients are admitted to the unit as well as the family and carers of this patient group.

Goal(s) for time on the Horizon Fellowship programme: Daisy’s goal is to be assisted in finding a web platform and support in effective planning and implementation. Ultimately the goal is to achieve the transition from a paper diary to a digital diary in the adult ICU.
