A year of progress and collaboration
Over the past 12 months, the DigitalHealth.London Accelerator and South West London Digital Pioneer Fellowship have supported a diverse group of innovators in London, as well as staff from health, local authority and voluntary organisations working across the South West London Integrated Care System respectively.
By supporting both startups and staff, DigitalHealth.London continues to build a robust network of digital leaders where ideas can flourish, partnerships can thrive and transformation can be sustained.
DigitalHealth.London Accelerator
The 2025 cohort has made significant strides in addressing some of the most pressing challenges facing the health and care system. The breadth of innovation seen through this cohort has been staggering, from remote monitoring to AI-enabled diagnostics, digital workflows to patient adherence, platforms for staff wellbeing and more.
Through the 12-month Accelerator, 17 companies have also reached new milestones and celebrated major successes. Flok Health created 29 new jobs; MEGI was approved as a Class I medical device; MyRenalCare provided over 500 kidney checks to people at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust, as part of their 2025 World Kidney Day celebrations; and many more.
The work of this cohort has the potential to directly support the three shifts (digital to analogue; sickness to prevention; and hospital to community), improving healthcare for patients and clinicians alike.
SWL Digital Pioneer Fellowship
In parallel, the 12-month South West London Digital Pioneer Fellowship, delivered in partnership with the South West London Integrated Care System, has equipped 71 digital pioneers from 28 health and care organisations with the skills, confidence and connections to lead transformation from within.
Through a structured programme of training, mentoring and peer learning, Fellows have:
- Transformed ideas into practical blueprints for digital transformation, tailored to their local contexts
- Developed leadership and project-specific skills, such as writing successful business cases and project evaluation
- Strengthened cross-sector collaboration between NHS, local authorities and voluntary organisations within the South West London ICS
These projects range from digitising referral pathways and improving data flows to enhancing patient engagement and streamlining clinical workflows. The SWL Digital Pioneer Fellowship has not only accelerated individual growth, but is also beginning to drive organisational development. In this way, the benefits of the training are felt far beyond the individual – to their colleagues, organisation and people they serve in South West London.
Reflections from the DigitalHealth.London Showcase
The DigitalHealth.London Showcase: Celebrating Innovation event was not only a night of celebration – but also a chance to look to the future. The event brought together leading voices from across the health, care and innovation systems to spotlight the progress and challenges that remain in driving digital transformation.
Alec Price-Forbes, Chief Clinical Information Officer at NHS England, reflected on the future of the NHS in an engaging keynote. Alec reflected on the 10 Year Plan for Health, emphasising the importance of collaboration to enable meaningful change. He also underscored the critical role of technology, such as the NHS App and the NHS Federated Data Platform, in shaping a more connected and efficient healthcare system.
Andrew George, Chair of the Board for the Health Innovation Network South London, also lead a panel focused on the real-world challenges of implementing digital solutions across healthcare settings. The lively discussion was shaped by insights from Dr Jo Sauvage, Chief Medical Officer North Central London Partners ICS; Louis Ovonlen, Lead Pharmacist and Associate Chief Clinical Information Officer at South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust; and Steve Roest, CEO and Co-Founder of Accelerator alumnus company, PocDoc.
On the 2025 DigitalHealth.London Showcase, Sara Nelson, Programme Director for DigitalHealth.London, said:
The DigitalHealth.London Showcase really is one of my favourite days of the year, because it’s the one day where we can recognise the brilliant people and ideas that have shaped health and care across London.
Showcases are about celebrations and connections. NHS staff working under huge pressure, constantly looking for smarter, safer ways to deliver care. Companies with fresh ideas, clever technology, and the drive to make a difference.
The showcase is about bringing those worlds together. Because when we connect the needs of the NHS with the creativity of entrepreneurs, transformation really occurs.
