Transforming Tinnitus Care: Oto Health

Oto Health aims to revolutionise the way people with Tinnitus receive care and manage their condition. Ed Farrar, CEO of the Launchpad Cohort 7 company, discusses how accessibility and expertise is at the heart of Oto Health’s comprehensive treatment app, which is now available for collaborations with hospital trusts or audiology services.

We’re making our innovative tinnitus services accessible to even more people across the UK by exploring collaborations within the NHS. This milestone represents a significant step forward in addressing the challenges of tinnitus with evidence-based, digital-first care.

1 in 7 people in the UK are affected by tinnitus, a condition that can be isolating, frustrating and challenging to manage. That’s why Oto was designed to provide accessible, effective and clinically-backed support for everyone who needs it. Our app offers a holistic, personalised solution designed to empower users to regain control over their tinnitus and improve their quality of life. Drawing from techniques including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and sound therapy, Oto provides a comprehensive toolkit tailored to the unique needs of each individual.

Since launching in 2020, Oto has become the go-to solution for tinnitus care, supported by expert audiologists, doctors, and individuals with tinnitus from all around the world. Our programme has been proven to deliver results, with a growing body of peer-reviewed evidence showing that Oto is effective.

The success of Oto is rooted in its accessibility and expertise. Our app combines convenience with proven medical care, offering personalised assessments, expert audio sessions and ongoing support. Wherever you are in your tinnitus journey, Oto can help.

We are proud to share that Oto is now DTAC (Digital Technology Assessment Criteria) and DSPT (Data Security and Protection Toolkit) ready. This ensures our app meets the highest standards for clinical safety, data protection, and technical security, giving patients and clinicians peace of mind when using our services.

A key aspect of Oto’s mission is advancing tinnitus research. Our DEFINE study, due for publication early this year, investigates the effectiveness of digital interventions for tinnitus management. This groundbreaking research will provide valuable insights into how innovative approaches like Oto can change tinnitus care.

We are dedicated to improving the lives of those affected by tinnitus and look forward to collaborating with healthcare providers to make effective tinnitus management accessible to all.
