Accelerator company LIVI secures NHS contract serving 1.85M patients

DigitalHealth.London Accelerator company LIVI has announced a new collaboration with NHS GP services in Birmingham, Shropshire, Northamptonshire, and parts of the south east. It will provide access to video consultations to NHS patients in the areas, totalling 1.85M.
Patients will be able to register with LIVI through their practice and access GP video consultations, referrals and prescriptions through the app. Appointments will be carried out by GPs employed by LIVI, and in the future patients will be offered video consultations with their own GP.
Richard Vautrey, Chair of the British Medical Association GP Committee said, “Providing practices the additional capacity and ability to be able to do online activity which they wouldn’t otherwise be able to do can be helpful. It needs to be properly resourced and it is part of the wider need for IT investment in general practice. Practices should be able to offer patients a range of access opportunities which they may not be able to at the moment because they simply do not have the technology.”
LIVI joined the DigitalHealth.London Accelerator in 2018, and will graduate in September 2019. It delivers video GP consultations to patients via their mobile devices – anytime and anywhere the patient chooses. 93% of current LIVI patients use LIVI in replacement of a physical doctor’s consultation, and users can seek medical advice, prescriptions, referrals and sick notes.
