South West London Digital Pioneer Fellowship Shortlisted for the 2024 HSJ Digital Awards

DigitalHealth.London is pleased to announce that the South West London (SWL) Digital Pioneer Fellowship has been shortlisted for the Digital Literacy, Education and Upskilling Award at the 2024 Health Service Journal (HSJ) Digital Awards, recognising innovative digital projects transforming care delivery, enhance efficiency, and improve patient outcomes.

343 entries have been received for this year’s HSJ Digital Awards, with 165 projects and individuals meriting inclusion on the final shortlist. The high volume – and exceptional quality – of applications again mirrors the impressive innovation and care continually being developed across the UK’s healthcare system.

Following a thorough judging process, DigitalHealth.London and the South West London Integrated Care System (SWL ICS) was shortlisted for the Digital Literacy, Education and Upskilling Award, ahead of the official awards ceremony to be held on Thursday 6 June 2024, with the SWL Digital Pioneer Fellowship standing out as a real ‘success story’ worthy of a prized place on the panel’s shortlist.

Funded by the SWL ICS, the SWL Digital Pioneer Fellowship programme has been designed as a learning community for those dedicated to expediting digital transformation within NHS organisations. Fellows will be participating in a total of six Learning Days that will cover topics such as building effective business cases, using Agile methodologies for project delivery, structuring evaluations and applying change management principles.

As part of the programme, Fellows will also have the opportunity to attend various workshops and events throughout the year and will be granted access to resources where they can share their experiences and challenges, learn from experts, and collaborate to develop effective digital solutions to transform working pathways within the wider SWL ICS.

A total of 39 fellows are currently on the programme and have been selected from across Local Authority Organisations, NHS Trusts, Primary Care, Community Organisations and within the SWL ICS.

We are delighted to have made the shortlist alongside SWL ICS for the SWL Digital Pioneer Fellowship. Our nomination for the HSJ Digital Literacy, Education, and Upskilling Award recognises the vital role of supporting and empowering staff within a whole ICS. The SWL ICS decision to open this to a mixed cohort – including NHS, social care and community organisations – and drive digital transformation is an inspired way of supporting cross sector care. This is a model that I believe each ICS should consider, as a well trained workforce will improve both patient outcomes and staff experience.
