Biography: My name is Winnie Wechie & I’m a Digital education fellow- this role taps into the future of health education delivery: innovatively combining the Virtual Learning Environment with already staple medical resources.
I have 14 years of combined NHS experience both as a Biomedical scientist and medical doctor in Scotland, England and the Welsh border. I have just finished Internal medical training (IMT3) working as a medical registrar with a vested interest digital education.
Horizon Fellowship project summary: Digital Literacy – roll out digital literacy programme in Chelsea & Westminster Hospital – The aim is overall service improvement and would love to upskill the NHS workforce moving forward. By upskilling the workforce in digital literacy this will improve efficiency in the workplace.
Estimated number of patients / staff impacted by the project: It can be the whole of Chelsea and Westminster hospital and the model can be hopefully replicated to include the entire Trust and other NHS hospitals
Goal(s) for time on the Horizon Fellowship programme: The goal for me is to successfully launch a project that will benefit the wider NHS workforce in line with the long-term NHS plan in expanding the workforce but in an efficient way that no one is left behind especially when it comes to the digitisation of so many workstreams. I am hoping to learn from experts to make me a better all-round individual in project management and start-ups.
