Biography: Under the direction of the Outpatients Matron, I am responsible for the effective delivery of care given to patients within the Outpatients Department, responsible for the day to day operational and clinical requirements of the clinics in the designated area. I work alongside all members of the Outpatients multi-disciplinary team to ensure the clinics are run safely and effectively. I develop patient care and service delivery in conjunction with the OPD Matron. I anticipate the care needs of patients and actively manage the patient’s journey by pro-actively participating in the care as part of the multidisciplinary team. I assist the Outpatients Matron to deliver the Outpatients strategy.
Horizon Fellowship project summary: I aim to address in my role improving patient and visitor communications in the outpatient department by standardizing signage an enhancing the clarity of information provided in appointment letters. Currently there are inconsistencies in signage and unclear directions leading to confusion and stress for patients and visitors. The Digital Healthcare Fellowship will equip me with the strategies and tools needed to tackle this issue effectively. Through exposure to best practices in digital healthcare communication and innovative solutions, I will gain insights into creating a cohesive and intuitive signage system.

Goal(s) for time on the Horizon Fellowship programme: I am passionate about leveraging technology to improve patient care and streamline healthcare processes. My experience has shown me the transformative potential of innovative solutions. This fellowship presents an opportunity to deepen my knowledge, skills and attitude towards Innovation. I will get the opportunity to collaborate with like-minded professionals and learning strategies that can enhance patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
