Biography: Jonathan has over 10 years of experience in the NHS, from provider, commissioning, and regulatory settings. He is an experienced project and programme manager with demonstrated success in delivering improvement and impactful change within the healthcare sector. Jonathan holds an MSc in Health Psychology and is qualified in MSP, PRINCE2, AgilePM, and APM PMQ. He is currently in a Senior Project Management role within a Patient Access Programme, focusing on the implementation of digital tools and technologies to improve patient care and clinical outcomes. The programme aims to create a digital front door for the Trust, making it easier for patients to access services, underpinned by efficient and effective administrative processes, becoming more digital and automated by default.

South West London ICL Digital Pioneer Fellowship project summary: The project will focus on developing the digital infrastructure needed for patients to manage their own appointments and reduce the need for associated administrative tasks, by digitising and automating. The project will implement patient-led bookings, introduce patient choice and flexibility, reduce admin/clinical time spent on administrative tasks as well as champion a greener NHS by reducing the carbon footprint associated with appointment management (e.g., letter printing/mailing).

Estimated number of patients / staff impacted by the project: Patients: 2,000,000 people across London and Hertfordshire (Trust-wide initiative). Staff: NA.

Goal(s) for time on the South West London ICL Digital Pioneer Fellowship: Jonathan aims to capture learning from the insights of experts, as well as network and share experiences with colleagues from across SWL and the wider health system who are also delivering digital transformation projects. He is keen to take these learnings and best-practice guidance back to his team and Trust.
