South West London ICL Digital Pioneer Fellowship project summary:
The biggest risk when patients arrive at the Emergency Department is time taken to book in and time to triage – for which the clinicians are unaware of the patient’s clinical need. This particular e-solution, aims to:
- reduce the undifferentiated risk in the queue for reception,
- speed up the time taken to book-in and initial triage,
- identify sickest patients earlier in their journey,
- direct patients to the correct area of the department more quickly.
Estimated number of patients / staff impacted by the project: 350 patients/day ~ 125,000/year
Goal(s) for time on the South West London ICL Digital Pioneer Fellowship: I look forward to the academic side of the Programme especially working with Agile methodologies, business cases and change management principles. Additionally, I am looking forward to networking with like minded individuals who are interested in making digital health a safe, suitable and efficient process for patients and staff.
