Digital Pioneer Fellowship project: Screening for Atrial Fibrillation (AF) in community clinics

Screening for AF in community clinics, using the AliveCor Kardia. Initially obtain devices from HIN, and then screen in community cardiology where ECG is not available. This will mainly be done by the community nurses. Would then like to branch out to flu vaccination clinics and equivalent.

I am a Consultant Cardiologist and my NHS practice is based at Croydon Health Services NHS Trust and King’s College Hospital NHS Trust. I attended medical school at Guy’s, King’s College & St Thomas’ Hospitals School of Medicine (now King’s College London School of Medicine),and did all my cardiology training in various hospitals in London. I have an interest in digital healthcare and feel digital transformation is critical to apply technology and communication to redefine patient experience, engagement and models of care in the modern world, putting the patient in the centre of healthcare.
