Emma Trinder

Founder of Co.Lab Education

Biography:

As an ex-teacher who has experienced the devastating effects of mental health support being removed from Further Education, I am intimately familiar with the stress and pressure that teachers face and the immense expectations placed on young people today. Witnessing firsthand the impact of these changes ignited my passion for levelling inequalities and advocating for better mental health support in educational settings.

Both personal and professional experiences shaped my journey to founding Co.Lab. Through my involvement in the Zinc Venture Builder program, I gained deeper insights into the systemic challenges facing mental health in our society, with the education system emerging as a critical area for intervention.

As a dyslexic female founder, I have encountered unique challenges in building connections, securing funding, and navigating biases within the industry. Despite these obstacles, my dedication to improving mental health outcomes for young individuals remains unwavering.
