Commissioning Manager Health Prevention and Wellbeing
Sutton Local Authority
Biography: I am a Commissioning Manager within Health Prevention and Wellbeing. My role and portfolio is focused upon the commissioning and management of specific preventive services including digital Information and advice, Learning Disabilities Supported Employment and Meals on Wheels. A large proportion of my role entails working with internal and external partners as well as the local community to build and maintain high quality effective services. I have worked for Sutton Council for over 8 years, I have a background in Children’s/Early Help preventative support. I champion restorative practice and approaches.
South West London ICL Digital Pioneer Fellowship project summary: I manage the Sutton Information Hub (www.suttoninformationhub.org.uk), a website designed to connect residents to local advice and services in Sutton. The aim of the project is to identify key areas of website improvements that will further develop the platform with a specific focus on improving the digital offer of support for adults, including preventive healthcare, social prescribing and ASC. Exploring innovative ways to develop the platform, Working with partners eg the council, SWL ICB’s, CVC etc and linking in with the ASC Transformation front door and prevention strategy.
Estimated number of patients / staff impacted by the project: The LBS currently has an estimated population of 209,517 , 154,575 of which are over the age of 18. We are currently seeing an average of 4-5k users of the platform per month, which is approx 2.45% of the 18+ population within the borough. As the majority of the content is currently geared towards children and SEND, so we expect the majority of the 2.45 will be looking for support for their children/ young people and less so for themselves. We would like to see an increase and reach to at least 10 – 15% of the population over the next 2 years. As we know 2,685 adults received long-term support from adult social care and there are approximately 15,999 unpaid carers in Sutton where preventive support can prevent issues escalating.
Goal(s) for time on the South West London ICL Digital Pioneer Fellowship: As my project covers multiple teams, areas and systems, my hope for the programme is to learn from the other participants and explore how we can work together on a common approach to challenges in the ICS. My goal is to take any new insight, knowledge and learning into my own authority to help us work better together to create better services
