Biography: Angela currently works in the Change Team within the Information Management & Technology Department at Kingston NHS Foundation Trust. She was recruited into this role after working as an Emergency Department Nursing Sister. As a clinical member of staff, Angela assists clinicians with digital transformation and improvements in the Trust and supports the IT staff in implementing the changes within clinical departments. She also helps clinicians introduce digital solutions to clearly defined issues.

South West London ICL Digital Pioneer Fellowship project summary: The Change Team is facing a challenge in updating the Emergency Department (ED) bed board view, which has been in use for 14 years (since the installation of their Electronic Patient Record (EPR)). A new solution to move the current ED bed board is being implemented, which will affect everyone with access to the digital ED bed board, including inpatient digital patient interaction within the trust. The goal is to finish the implementation of this new solution by the end of the year. A working party of stakeholders is currently scoping the change across the digital platform. The current EPR provider will no longer support the current ED bed board digital view. This is a significant digital transformation for the ED.

Estimated number of patients / staff impacted by the project: Patients: 125,000 annually. Staff: 120.

Goal(s) for time on the South West London ICL Digital Pioneer Fellowship: Angela aims to gain the necessary skills to implement complex organisational change and learn from others who are also on a similar course of digital transformation.
