Nura XR

NHS Problem

Neurodevelopmental conditions such as autism and ADHD affect an estimated 1 in 7 people in the UK, with demand for assessments at an all-time high. NHS waiting lists for diagnosis can exceed two years, delaying access to vital support and increasing long-term care costs. Each missed early intervention can significantly impact education, mental health, and independence, creating a financial and social burden.

Nura XR addresses this by providing an AI-powered VR diagnostic platform that delivers accurate, engaging, and scalable early assessments, reducing wait times, easing NHS pressure, and enabling timely, cost-effective support for neurodiverse individuals.

Founder Story

I founded Nura XR after seeing first-hand the challenges families face in getting timely and accurate neurodiversity diagnoses. Long NHS waiting lists and limited resources often mean children wait years for assessments, missing critical early support. With my background in immersive technology and AI, I knew there was a better way. I brought together a team of educators, clinicians, and technologists to create an engaging, scalable, and data-driven platform that could speed up diagnosis and improve outcomes. While I’m not NHS staff, I’ve worked closely with schools, healthcare providers, and neurodiversity advocates to ensure Nura XR meets real-world needs.

The Solution

Nura XR is a technology company pioneering the use of extended reality (XR) and artificial intelligence (AI) to transform neurodiversity diagnostics. Our flagship product is an immersive VR platform that identifies traits of conditions such as autism and ADHD in children through engaging, gamified assessments. AI-driven analytics capture behavioural data in real time, delivering accurate, objective insights for clinicians and educators. Designed to be scalable, accessible, and non-invasive, Nura XR reduces diagnostic wait times and improves early intervention. With pilots across 2,000 schools and a key partnership with Meta, we are building a global solution for inclusive, data-driven neurodiversity support.

Impact

Nura XR has the potential to transform neurodiversity diagnostics, directly addressing long NHS waiting times and the growing demand for early assessments. Neurodevelopmental conditions such as autism and ADHD affect over 1.5 million people in the UK, with diagnostic delays often exceeding two years. Our AI-powered VR platform enables assessments to be completed in under 30 minutes within schools or clinics, compared to several months of traditional multi-appointment processes.

By reducing waiting times and enabling earlier interventions, Nura XR can significantly:

  • Improve educational outcomes
    Mental health
  • Long-term independence for neurodiverse individuals.

For the NHS, this translates into measurable savings by:

  • Lowering the need for costly crisis interventions
  • Reducing missed education-related health complications
  • Optimising clinician time.

A single clinician could assess up to five times more patients per week using our platform, freeing thousands of clinical hours annually.

Through pilots with over 2,000 schools and partnerships with organisations such as Meta, Nura XR is positioned to impact hundreds of thousands of children annually, both in the UK and internationally. The combined benefits of:

  • Time savings
  • Improved access
  • Reduced long-term care costs

Can offer significant economic and social returns, while creating a scalable, evidence-based model for inclusive neurodiversity support.
