Biography: NHS doctor and founder of Fitra Health, developing culturally adapted digital CBT tools to improve access to mental health care in the NHS.

 

Horizon Fellowship project summary: Piloting a culturally adapted digital CBT platform to support early mental health screening and intervention for Muslim patients within NHS settings.

 

Estimated number of patients / staff impacted by the project: The initial pilot is being conducted as a Quality Improvement Project within a GP practice serving approximately 3,500 registered Muslim patients. During the pilot phase, we anticipate direct engagement with a proportion of this population who present with symptoms of depression or mental health distress. If successful, the model has the potential to scale to larger NHS populations.
