Senior Primary Care Pharmacist

Biography: As a Senior Primary Care pharmacist, I am responsible for overlooking and supporting primary care networks to achieve their improvement scheme as well as answer any medicines related queries. I am currently a SWL lead for renal and also support the SWL digital network. Additionally, I am the primary care support for sustainability where we support the sustainability agenda.

South West London ICL Digital Pioneer Fellowship project summary:SWL medicines optimisation team have procured and implemented ScriptSwitch, a prescribing clinical decision support system, across all SWL GP practices. ScriptSwitch integrates with the GP clinical system, providing clinicians with real-time messages that are aligned with local formulary recommendations. These messages help clinicians make safe, quality, and cost-effective prescribing decisions by offering relevant information or alternative products at the point of prescribing.

Estimated number of patients / staff impacted by the project:

  • Patients: 1.4million
  • Staff: All GP practices clinicians & approximately 20 medicines optimisation pharmacists

Goal(s) for time on the South West London ICL Digital Pioneer Fellowship: Meeting like minded people who can support with exploring new solutions to optimise the use of ScriptSwitch. This includes improving the user interface, enhancing functionality and seeking innovative approaches to future support primary care clinicians make appropriate decisions to better support their patients.
