Good You Asked

NHS Problem

Good You Asked tackles two urgent NHS challenges, familial hypercholesterolemia (270,000 affected) and diabetes (over 5.8 million patients in the UK). Together, these conditions drive preventable heart disease, costing the NHS over £18 billion each year in treatment and complications. Improving early diagnosis and adherence could save thousands of lives and significantly cut NHS spending.

Founder Story

I was driven by ‘simplify healthcare’ and empower patients through intelligent, conversational digital tools. With over two decades of experience in health entrepreneurship, I saw the persistent gap between how patients manage chronic conditions and how clinicians access real-world insights. My earlier ventures focused on bridging user–provider divides and creating consumer-oriented health services. In 2023, we launched Good You Asked Limited to harness data, behavioural science, and digital engagement for proactive, personalised care, turning everyday health interactions into meaningful, guided journeys that improve adherence, communication, and outcomes.

The Solution

Good You Asked (GYA) transforms chronic care by capturing real-world data from patients and caregivers, including behavioural cues, labs, wearables, lifestyle and converting it into actionable insights. Using explainable AI, GYA enables patient stratification, risk quantification, and endpoint forecasting. By connecting patients, families, and clinicians through a shared real-time narrative, it builds predictive, personalised pathways and a scalable Health Navigation Index for proactive care

Impact

Good You Asked aims to transform chronic condition management by improving adherence, engagement, and early intervention. While formal studies are yet to commence, projected outcomes based on early user testing and clinical modelling suggest:

  • Potential to reduce non-adherence by at least 20%.
  • Decrease avoidable complications, and save millions in NHS costs.
  • Could reach over 6 million UK patients with diabetes and familial hypercholesterolemia, conditions responsible for nearly a third of cardiovascular admissions.

By streamlining clinician workflows and empowering patients through data-driven, guided self-management, Good You Asked seeks to deliver measurable improvements in both health outcomes and healthcare efficiency.
