NHS problem
NHS clinicians face growing documentation, correspondence and reporting workloads alongside workforce pressure and long waiting lists. Time spent typing notes, reviewing letters, summarising records and preparing referral packs is time not spent with patients. Diagnostics face the same constraint: the Royal College of Radiologists’ 2025 census reports a 32% consultant radiologist shortfall of over 2,300 WTE doctors, rising to 40% by 2030. The NHS spent £362 million in 2025, and £1.4 billion over five years, on outsourcing, locums and overtime. Nearly 941,000 English scan reports took over four weeks to return. The constraint is documentation capacity, not clinical skill.
Founder Story
DeepInfinity was co-founded in December 2020 by Rama Krishna Boya and Prasanthi Enuga. Rama had spent two decades across technology and financial services. Visiting hospitals in India during doctoral work in generative AI at Kingston University, he saw clinicians – radiologists especially, reporting hundreds of studies daily losing time to documentation rather than clinical judgement. The team built AI around real hospital and radiology workflows, with structured outputs, integration readiness and clinician oversight designed in from the start. Neither founder is NHS staff or an NHS patient representative; the company has been developed with healthcare professionals and provider organisations.
The Solution
DeepInfinity.AI builds ambient AI agents for clinical documentation, correspondence and imaging workflows. In the UK, we offer DeepInfinity Scribe: DeepScribe AI (dictation), DeepConverse AI (multilingual consultation summarisation) and DeepSpeed Rad Scribe (structured radiology reporting), a UKCA-marked Class I medical device software, MHRA-registered. The wider platform runs eleven agents in live overseas deployments spanning patient registration, prescription and lab digitisation, discharge summaries and speciality documentation. Agents outside our current UK registration are not offered here pending appropriate conformity assessment. Every output is a draft requiring clinician review and sign-off. Integrates with EPR, EHR, PACS and RIS via FHIR, HL7 and DICOM.
Impact
Actual outcomes: DeepInfinity successfully completed the Launchpad programme, strengthening its NHS market readiness, evidence planning and pathway for adoption. The platform has supported thousands of active users across hospital, diagnostic and clinician settings. In pilots, users have reported up to an 80% reduction in typing time, around a 40% improvement in report turnaround and a 10-25% reduction in documentation errors; these results are context-specific and will be validated further in UK deployments. DeepInfinity Scribe is UKCA marked as Class I medical device software and registered with the MHRA. The company has also completed an NHS DTAC self-assessment and operates clinical risk management under DCB0129.
Expected NHS impact: reduce avoidable documentation and correspondence workload; release clinician and administrative time; improve the consistency and completeness of draft records and referral packs; and support faster movement of information through clinical pathways. Each deployment will agree baseline measures, user groups and evaluation criteria with the NHS partner. Every output remains a draft for clinician review, so the clinical decision and accountability stay with the healthcare professional.
