Clinical Digital Change Lead
NHS
Biography: With a 16-year background as an Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) at St George’s University Hospitals, I currently work as the Clinical Digital Change Lead, a role focused on enhancing patient care through digital transformation. I play a key role in shaping and advancing the collaborative Electronic Patient Record (EPR) strategy across UHDB and CRH, ensuring that clinical guidance and patient-centred engagement are central to every initiative. My responsibilities include fostering clinical transformation within programme workstreams, supporting training and education, and maintaining clinical safety standards. Additionally, I work closely with patients and clinical teams to ensure seamless integration and adoption of the EPR system. Beyond my current role, I have a strong interest in global health and in using technology to support healthcare improvements in Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMIC), aiming to harness innovation for greater accessibility and positive change worldwide.
South West London ICL Digital Pioneer Fellowship project summary: The SMART Theatres project aims to address the impact of estates failures on NHS operating theatres by implementing an automated system to reduce costly downtime and improve patient outcomes. At present, frequent infrastructure issues like temperature fluctuations lead to theatre closures, case cancellations, and increased costs. SMART Theatres will provide real-time monitoring and automatic adjustments for key systems to minimise these disruptions. This approach will streamline operations, reduce financial losses, enhance patient care, and improve staff experience, creating a more resilient and responsive theatre environment that can better meet patient and service needs.
Estimated number of patients / staff impacted by the project: 500,000
Goal(s) for time on the South West London ICL Digital Pioneer Fellowship: My goal for the Digital Pioneer Fellowship is to enhance my leadership skills in digital transformation, collaborate with diverse teams, and implement innovative solutions that improve patient care. I aim to leverage knowledge from Learning Days to drive meaningful change in my organisation and across the South-West London ICS.
