Digital Pioneer Spotlight: Sara Nelson

This is the latest in our series of Spotlights on the 2016/17 NHS Digital Pioneer Award nominees.
Sara Nelson is the Lead, Children and Young People’s Programme at the Healthy London Partnership.
Sara’s project is The London Asthma Toolkit : a series of downloadable resources, including films and online learning, and was developed as part of the Children and Young People’s (CYP)’s programme to reduce variation in access to care and management of long-term conditions, including asthma.
“For asthma, an easy way to share resources across the capital was required. Therefore, a panel of experts was convened to identify best practice and develop a way of sharing it digitally. The panel benefitted from input from leading experts and developed a set of ambitions for asthma in London for children and young people,” explains Sara.
“We found that online resource was limited, and mainly focussed round the user, rather than providing advice to both commissioners and providers. In addition we wanted to engage groups who wouldn’t be aware of the professional sites; such as teachers, local authorities and community pharmacists.”
