Mental health app MeeTwo runners up at the National Medilink UK Healthcare Business Awards

DigitalHealth.London Accelerator company MeeTwo has been announced as a runner up in the 2019 Medilink UK Healthcare Business Awards, which celebrate outstanding business achievements, international successes, and innovative breakthroughs across life sciences and healthcare technology.

MeeTwo is an app that helps anxious teenagers talk about challenges they face in their lives, and open up about their mental health, and recently won best innovation at the Mayor of London Medtech Business Awards. MeeTwo combines the best aspects of peer support with the added benefits of 100% pre-moderation, expert advice, and in-app access to educational resources and third party support from helplines and charities.

Based on the peer support model and developed using the latest psychological research, the MeeTwo app encourages young people to help themselves by helping each other. Peer support has been shown to improve quality of life, wellbeing, social networks, self-esteem and social functioning, alongside reductions in hospital admission rates and use of hospital emergency services.

The app is free to download from the App and Play stores and featured on the NHS Apps Library. MeeTwo currently supports over 9,500 teenagers.
