Digital Pioneer Fellowship project: Digital Platform sharing health data for people with cystic fibrosis and healthcare teams

This project will co-design and build a digital platform which will enable the sharing of health data between people with cystic fibrosis and their healthcare team. This project has been driven by the patients’ feedback that the CF service impacts significantly on their life as it requires frequent hospital attendances for health monitoring. The future scope would involve liaising with commissioners about funding this technology from the CF tariff, sustainability of the tech and evolving the service redesign and some consideration of the impact and use on CF care across the UK.

Helen Parrott has been working in the NHS for over 16 years as a Physiotherapist. Her career at the Royal Brompton, specialising in the management of adults with cystic fibrosis, has seen her advance her clinical practice and make impacts on service delivery through her drive for quality improvement and innovative thinking. Helen now holds the position of Associate Director of Rehabilitation and Therapies. Helen is passionate about challenging the status quo and continually improving services to meet the needs of the patients they serve.

“Digital transformation is central to our success in designing better care models in the NHS – high quality data needs to reach the hands of both patients and clinicians to enable better, more collaborative decisions about health.”
