However, as we enter into “Maternal Mental Health Awareness Week” this week, Dr Julian Nesbitt opens up the conversation about the struggles that many people face surrounding maternity.

She explains that the need for fellowships reflects a failing in the system: “we have not yet reached a point where individual NHS organisations are consistently providing this type of direction and coaching to their staff members.”

After a successful pilot, Accelerator company Q doctor has partnered with Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trustto give their patients access to video consultations with healthcare professionals – all 735,000 of them. This is a great success, and makes us proud of the work our SMEs do to improve health and care in the UK.
We’re immensely proud that Jenny Thomas has been named as one of 100 top women in healthtech, in a list published by Women of Wearables this month. Jenny is in good company, featured alongside the brilliant Lydia Yarlott and Elin Haf Davies from Accelerator companies Forward Health and Aparito.
Our NHS Navigator Sara Nelson is fresh out of her first session at the NHS Digital Academy. The Academy was set up “to develop a new generation of excellent digital leaders who can drive the information and technology transformation of the NHS.” Sara is one of only five nurses on the course, and will combine her studies with her full-time role at our flagship Accelerator programme.
Neurotech Solutions, Day Two and Orpheus Medical were all invited to London as part of the UK Israel Dangoor Health Initiative, a health accelerator aimed at connecting Israeli start-ups in the digital health field with the NHS. The programme is a partnership between DigitalHealth.London, the UK Israel Tech Hub, IBM Alpha Zone, and Dangoor Education.
