Yvette has been a Consultant in Anaesthetics and Chronic Pain since 2014. Qualifying as a Doctor from Bristol University in 2002, she has spent the last 10 years working across southwest London and Surrey, in both NHS and private sectors.
Yvette has completed the Leading and Managing Change Programme at Kingston Business School in collaboration with the Health Innovation Network, and has subsequently been involved with a project to increase the availability of MSK services in the community. She has also held a number of leadership and management positions, including Clinical Governance and Quality Improvement Lead for Pain Clinic, Consultant Representative on the Trust Investment Committee and Local Negotiating Committee, and supporting the College Tutor in educational roles such as Novice Trainee Co-ordinator and Pain Training Co-ordinator.
Whilst studying Medicine, Yvette did an intercalated BSc in Bioethics. During this time, she developed her strong values, particularly around patient autonomy. She is also passionate about shifting the focus of healthcare to a preventative and health promoting model of care. This is reflected in her work in chronic pain, which centres around providing patients with tools and information so that they feel empowered to make their own decisions about how they manage their pain.
Outside of work Yvette is mummy to two little girls who make sure she never has a dull moment!
