COMMERCIAL DIRECTOR, IMPERIAL COLLEGE
Shirlene was appointed as Head of Industry at Imperial College Health Partners in March 2015. In her role, Shirlene is responsible for enabling the NHS in North West London to work in closer partnership with the commercial sector to provide a more productive market for the development, adoption, and demonstration of products and services for the benefits of patients.
The wider benefits of this will be for the NHS to become a more attractive market to the commercial sector, increasing investment in the UK and improving prosperity through the creation of value and wealth along with improving the health and wellbeing of the population.
Prior to joining the Partnership, Shirlene spent over 20 years of her career in industry, working in roles in new product development, business planning, business development, operations in China and the UK, and in strategy. Shirlene has held senior positions at GSK including VP, Sustainable Health Lab and VP, Supply Strategy.
She has a PhD in Chemistry and a Masters degree in Business Administration and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry.
